Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. Serve the LORD with gladness: come before His presence with singing. Psalm100:1-2

OUR MISSION

Glory Bound Way was formed in November 1996 to sing and offer praise to the LORD. Since we began, our ministry has taken us many places. However, our calling seems to be to minister to those who are heavy laden. We visit five nursing homes in our community on a regular basis to offer praise to the LORD with those who cannot go to a church to worship. We covet your prayers that the LORD will use us to be a blessing to others.

Group Biography

The Halls: John E. & Anna
Hello from the Halls,
First of all we would like to say that it is an honor to be singing for the LORD with the Glory Bound Way. I sing tenor and my wife Anna sings soprano. I have been singing with the group for 8 years and Anna has been singing with us for about 3 years and we both enjoy singing very much.

Anna was raised in Rockville, Va. and was saved at the age of five. She was raised in the church and learned to sing there. She sang in the choir and also sang solos in the church where her father ministered. Anna says that she prayed for a husband that loved the LORD and that loved to sing, well I don't know if her prayers were answered because she got me.

I have lived in Johnston County most of my life and attended a Christian High School where I gave my life to Jesus my senior year I have been living for Him the best I can ever since. After Anna and I got married we settled in Benson, NC.

We both attend Central Baptist Church where Tom Wagoner is the pastor. I met my wife through the choir ministry at this church. I saw her in July 2000 but did not speak to her at that time. We were set up on a date in November 2000 and started dating soon thereafter. We have so much in common, we attended the same type of Christian school, attended the same Bible College in Hammond, In. and shared an 8 o'clock class but never met.Our birthdays are only a day apart, hers is July 25th and mine is July 26th. With have so much in common I had to ask her to marry me. She moved to Dunn from Winston-Salem to live with her brother so we could be closer together. She then started working in Angier at First Citizens Bank and I was working at the Angier Police Dept. The way I proposed to her, I had one of my police buddies pull her over and tell her that her tags were gone, when she got out of the vehicle I got out of mine in full uniform, handed her a rose and the engagement ring got down on one knee and asked her to marry me. Thank goodness she said yes. We were married on Sept.15,2001.

After being married for a while we felt like something was missing, a baby. Due to an accident that happened to me as a child the doctors said that I could not have children of my own.We tried for what seemed like forever, so we started attending Foster Parenting classes. When they came out for the final inspection they told us that our house was not good enough. We were losing hope but PRAISE GOD He is so much bigger than any doctor because Anna found out on Mothers Day that she was going to have a baby. On Dec.29, 2004 Anna gave birth to little JoAnna Grace (Gracie) Hall. She has changed our lives completely .Gracie goes with us to most of our singings. She has a toy microphone that she loves so maybe you will here her soon.

We have been so blessed, GOD has given us talent and we are glad that the Glory Bound Way lets us sing with them. We pray that our group has blessed you in some way and may GOD bless and keep you.

Randy Partin (Lead Singer)

Randy resides in southern wake county with wife Joan of 31 years. We have been blessed with one son Lynn, his wife Amanda and their son our grandson Bladen. I have been serving the LORD since December 1978 when I was born again. My wife and I are members of Friendship Baptist Church near McGees Crossroads. What a privilege and honor GOD has given me to sing and be a part of Glory Bound Way since the group was formed. Singing is something I have always enjoyed and my hope and prayers is that GOD will allow me to continue to sing for His glory until that great day when He calls me home.

James Simon Stephenson (Tenor)

I have so much to thank GOD for. I was born and live in Johnston county with my wonderful wife (Vivian) of 62 years. I served in World War II from 1942 until 1947. My wife Vivian and I was married on February 7th, 1944. The next ten years following our marriage we were blessed with three wonderful children who have given us three grandchildren and one great grandchild. I was saved on March 19th,1958 and my wife and I have been members at Friendship Baptist Church for the past 30 years. We both love to sing for the LORD. I have been blessed to sing with the Glory Bound Way for the past 9 years since the group was formed. My prayer is that we will have many years together. GOD has been so good to me.

Doug Roberts (Bass)

Doug sings bass because he loves the LORD and wants to tell others through song just what the LORD means to him. Doug and his wife (Nina) live in the McGees Crossroads community. We have one son, Chris, his wife LuAnn and their son, our grandson Ryan. Doug has been singing bass for the Glory Bound Way for the past 9 years since the group was formed.

Christy Capps (Keyboard and Tenor)

I was blessed to be born into a Christian family and accepted JESUS as my SAVIOUR at the age of 5. As a young girl I longed to play the piano and my wonderful parents went the extra mile to make sure that I had a chance. GOD has blessed me with the ability to play and I am thankful for the opportunity to use this gift in service for Him.

Thomas Buckley III (Baritone)

I was blessed in November 2002 at Friendship Baptist Church, Angier, NC where the Lord drew me with His Spirit and I accepted Christ Jesus as My Saviour and I have been serving Him ever since. From the time I was very young I've always found it hard to sing, although I enjoyed trying and had a longing to do so. Singing has never come easy for me but with persistence and the Lords rich blessing He opened a door for me to sing with The Glory Bound Way. I believe this had to be a touch from the Lord for them to offer me this opportunity. Whatever the case may be, I truly am blessed to sing praises to God with the group.
I was born in Kansas where at the age of 4 my family moved to Dudley, NC. When I was about 10 years of age my parents divorced and my mother remarried a man from Johnston County where we have been living ever since. I am now 31 years old and love serving the Lord with 5 dedicated brothers and 2 beautiful sisters in the singing ministry.

Wayne Holder (Bass guitar and vocal)

Wayne was born and still resides in Lee County , Sanford, NC along with His wife Nellie and son Jason at 4504 Hopemore St. Sanford, NC. Wayne is now retired from Whitin-Roberts, a textile machinery company where he worked for forty years. He also enjoys the outdoors and fishing. Wayne likes to help some of the people in his neighborhood by keeping their grass mowed for them. Wayne has been saved and serving the Lord for 50 years.
He and his family attend Calvary Missionary Methodist Church in Olivia, NC. Wayne's love for gospel music is proven in his great efforts of playing the bass guitar and his singing.
